A proud reindeer steps across the skin of this Sami drum. This beautiful, small drum carries a mystical atmosphere and makes a wonderful keepsake from your journey to Lapland.

The reindeer symbolizes nature’s gifts, resilience, and deep connection to the northern wilderness. People have long relied on its protection and power as a source of wellbeing, luck, and balance. The reindeer also serves as a spiritual guide, leading travellers to the right path through life’s challenges.

This unique, handcrafted Sami drum is wonderfully versatile – perfect for playing, meditation, healing work, or simply as a beautiful presence in your space. Each high-quality drum is lovingly made in our Lapland workshop.

Caring for nature is deeply important to us. The drum skin is Finnish reindeer hide, and the bent double birch plywood frame is protected with high-quality wood wax.

The wooden handle provides a comfortable, firm grip that makes playing easy. Each beater is gathered from the forest, then carefully sawn, sanded, and waxed. Finally, a hand-sewn felt hood is
attached. The product is 100% Finnish handicraft.

The reindeer design is screen-printed onto the drum skin. Your drum arrives in a beautiful gift box, with the beater included in the price.

Care instructions come with your drum.

Size: Round Sami drum 31×31 cm, rim height 10 cm. Weight approximately 0.450 kg.

Care and storage
The shamanic drum is quite carefree if you remember a few basics:
– Nourish it a few times a year with a leather care product – Store it on a wall mount if possible.
Keep it away from direct sunlight, heat pumps, hot cars, and other conditions where the drum skin
might dry out too much. If the skin becomes too dry, it risks over-tightening and tearing

Tuning
The drum “breathes” with the humidity – the skin loosens in moist air and tightens in dry air.
Humidity affects your drum’s voice. If your drum skin feels loose, warm it gently in sunshine, by a
campfire, or with a hairdryer.

Delivery time

Once we’ve received your order, it will leave from our warehouse within one to three business days.
Shipping time depends on the destination.

Right of return
All products have a standard 14-day return period. If you decide not to keep the drum, contact us
and we’ll arrange the return.

examined a group who drummed for 40 minutes, measuring blood pressure, blood lactate levels,

The drum may also help when you’re feeling low or angry, as the sound and the act of playing help
release emotions. Add some movement, and a 15-minute session of drumming and dancing can truly

Rumpu Ukko

Unexpectedly a “woman” is running the reins of Rumpu-ukko, Sari Autere.

Sari became a drum maker almost by accident, as there are no craftsmen, musicians or shamans in the family.

Sari got her first contact with shaman drums at spiritual retreats, when the drum took her to other spheres. The drum’s power – its energy, calming effect and mysticism – stayed in her mind. Years later, together with her then spouse Rumpu-ukko was founded and shaman drums began to be created.

Sari feels she is above all a craftsperson, even though shamanism and various forms of spirituality are familiar to her.
