- Housing company: The housing company may use spaces under the company’s control, such as parking spaces, for piling snow, but using a shareholder’s parking space requires their consent.
- Other land: Snow loads must not be piled on streets, parks or a neighbor’s plot.
- Professional help Tunturipuu.fi: If your own work ability or time is not sufficient, it is sensible to hire a professional to take care of snow plowing, for example with a snowblower.
- Snowblower use: Using a snowblower is effective especially on large areas and can make it easier to remove snow even from compacted drifts.
- Gritting: After snow work it is good to grit, especially if plowing has left behind a slippery surface, to prevent freezing and accidents.
- Meltwater: In the spring meltwater must flow in a controlled manner so that it does not cause damage to the building’s structures or to neighbors.
- Yard planning: Plan yard usability and winter maintenance when designing the yard.
