Rumpu Ukko

Unexpectedly a “woman” is running the reins of Rumpu-ukko, Sari Autere.

Sari became a drum maker almost by accident, as there are no craftsmen, musicians or shamans in the family.

Sari got her first contact with shaman drums at spiritual retreats, when the drum took her to other spheres. The drum’s power – its energy, calming effect and mysticism – stayed in her mind. Years later, together with her then spouse  Rumpu-ukko was founded and shaman drums began to be created.

Sari feels she is above all a craftsperson, even though shamanism and various forms of spirituality are familiar to her.
